When I think of Aversboro Restaurant I can’t help but think of the TV show Cheers. The atmosphere in cheers was hometown, friendly and everybody knew your name. This is what Aversboro has done for the town of Garner. Purchased in May 2012, the new owners Susie and Wendy have provided a fun, comfortable atmosphere where you can get a great meal and let your hair down any night of the week.
One of the best features of this restaurant is the large outdoor patio. On warm days you will hear the music playing, families hanging out under umbrellas, and even a game of cornhole in the parking lot. Inside you will find several large flat screens always keeping you up on sports.
Several nights a week there are activities going on such as poker, trivia or live music. The bar is divided into two areas with the main bar offering several tables to sit and chat and the back bar area where you can enjoy the band and dance the night away.
Don’t overlook the menu though because not only do they offer the ever popular bar food, but they offer other higher end items such as Chicken Cordon Bleu, WamBam Shrimp and Beef Tips over Rice all reasonably priced. The bar recently added a few more interesting brews as well including Angry Orchard, Carolina Blond, Sierra Nevada, Red Hook Long Hammer, Red Hook Winter Hook, Stella, Big Boss High Roller, Natty Greens Southern, Aviator Hot Rod Red and Shock Top End of the World Midnight Wheat.
If you’re looking for a casual place to hang out without having to drive into Raleigh, give Aversboro Restaurant a try. Keep up with their specials and band line up on their Facebook page.
They are located at 1411 Aversboro Rd in Garner.
