Black Skin Care Treatments Using Lasers
Monday, 14 March 2016
Up until recently lasers could not be used on dark skin because the laser would burn the skin. People with dark skin not only include African-Americans, but a number of other ethnicities (Asian and Hispanic) and even deeply suntanned Caucasians. With the development of the YAG lasers using the 1065 nanometer wavelength, laser skin treatments can now be performed on people with dark skin without harm. For the purpose of this article we will concentrate on Black Skin Care.
One issue that many African-Americans face is uneven skin tone. The most common cause of this is hyperpigmentation. Hyperpigmentation is caused by the excessive production of melanin in the skin due to sun damage or trauma to the skin. This results… Read the rest

Putting a website together does not have to be difficult these days with all the choices you have. However, the very first thing that you must do when you start is to organize a plan that can make the process easier and help you to stay on track.
1. Setting Goals For Your Site
Writing down very specific goals helps you to create a successful website as opposed to something that lacks purpose and measurable effectiveness.
-What do you want to accomplish with your site?
-What do you want visitors to do when they arrive on your site?
-Do you want your site to elicit an emotional response?
-What type of impression do you want to make at first glance?… Read the rest

Sport coat- What you need to know guide for men…in Raleigh
First things first, you’re probably asking why you should read this and how am I qualified to write on this sporty subject? Great question!
Well, I have 20 years of experience working in a corporate environment that demanded “corporate dress”. Corporate dress code involves a suit, tie and dress shoes; furthermore, business casual was expected after-hours…and to stand apart, I had to be bold with fashion and create unorthodox combinations. I’ve worked and lived in Manhattan, Los Angeles, Scottsdale, Mexico City, London and now Raleigh. I’ve been here going on 5 years and have watched the fashion trends in our fair city. So, that’s that…now let’s talk sport coats.
Raleigh is a relatively “laid back” town. Men are very… Read the rest
Hello and Handshakes
I refuse to relent.
I have old fashioned values, whereas I believe that relationships, my word and a handshake still mean something. Sticking to traditional values of honesty, integrity and hard work are imperative parameters on how I run my company. I will embrace, encourage and foster relationships in my everyday business practices. I will not relent; I will not give in to the progressing faceless, electronic and legalistic society that we’re becoming.
Therefore, relationship marketing is a key and primary focus of my business and marketing plan. I’ll argue that this concept can revolutionize your company, revitalize your bottom line and dramatically increase your customer retention rate.
Now for a marketing/history lesson…
Relationship Marketing is a marketing strategy whose… Read the rest
Six Degrees of Separation- Is there such a thing as too many connections? A blog by RFK
Life is full of patterns, but often times, we do not realize as much as we should that mathematics too is full of patterns. I’ve been fascinated with numbers all of my life, I believe it began in grade school while watching Major League Baseball and predicting outcomes based on players batting and earned run averages. I’ve made a career out of numbers and I now use number theory with my use of social networks and networking. Basic mathematics and further advances in communication technology, particularly the Internet have drawn great attention to social networks and human interconnectedness.

While you’re sleeping
I’ve been very fortunate in life to have had and still have very successful business owners as friends and mentors. Additionally, in my corporate life…ah yes, my corporate life…feels like a lifetime ago. I worked for one of the wealthiest families in the world and was surrounded by some of the best & brightest business minds for many years. This is not a story about me; heck…I was just a poor kid From Cleveland, Ohio with no pedigree that received a few breaks at opportune times. I was also willing to work harder and smarter than the next guy and I guess people recognized that. This is a story about what I did during this period in my life, I… Read the rest
Strategic Partnerships – The New Normal
The ‘fiscal cliff’ may sound like a tourist destination near Asheville, but in reality it’s a road trip to the fiscal unknown. In this era of economic uncertainty; an end to the temporary payroll tax cuts, changing in the alternative minimum tax (AMT), tax increases resulting from the affordable health care act and other tax consequences affecting small businesses….blah, blah and BLAH! Don’t get me wrong, these are serious situations with potential dire consequences, but I cannot control the insanity in Washington. I can control my own circumstances here and now. Yes, I can.
I’ll hedge my bet!
I looked at opportunities to make my small business as strong as possible to get through the uncertainty mentioned above and the… Read the rest

The Death of Google Plus?
Seriously, sometimes I get SO disgusted with Google pretty much forcing everyone down their path – and then completely changing path, not finishing the path, or otherwise making all your efforts learning their “vision” completely wasted. I do have to admit, G+ has never been my favorite thing to deal with. It was almost implemented like when Microsoft brought their not ready for primetime web browser, Internet Explorer, to the party with Netscape so many years ago. It wasn’t that it was bad, just so many issues, so much incompatibility, the quirks… No, actually it WAS bad. But that’s another story. You just can’t muscle into the room, declare you’re here, and then expect everyone to skip merrily down your… Read the rest
Local Search Onsite SEO Techniques
There are a lot of different angles to SEO. From getting your site found organically to getting found via the local maps and more, different people approach your search engine optimization tasks in a number of different ways.
What Is A Local Search?
One thing that we find with many of our local businesses is the desire to come up in the maps. In the SEO world, we call these the local search results. It’s sometimes referred to as a “7-Pack” as well. The “7-pack” refers the the first page of results which usually consists of 3 organic search results, 7 map listing results, and then the next 7 are organic results. This gives a total of actually 17 on… Read the rest
Holiday Time – What Are You Going To Do Next Year?
It’s the holiday season! It’s time to think about what you’re going to be doing on the web for the next year. Are you already happy with where your website is at in the rankings? And is that website getting all the traffic you want? Maybe even more important, are you getting calls or emails from the people that visit your site?
Let’s tackle this one at a time. Today, we’ll just focus on…
Where is your website in the rankings?
Ideally, you will know exactly the terms for which you wish to be found. People make me do my own version of Santa’s chuckle sometimes.

Why a WordPress Website?
What a long way WordPress has come in the last few years. Once the “go to application” for blogs, WordPress has emerged as the single most used CMS for websites on the internet. With over 11 million websites built with WordPress available on the web these days, it is not only the go to for blogging, but for general websites as well.
Combining great flexibility as well as being an open source software package, WordPress has very basic requirements to run properly. Unlike some other web technologies, WordPress runs on almost any LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) available from all those webhosting companies you find out on the internet. Of course, we can also provide webhosting at OutsideRaleigh as… Read the rest
Is Yor Website Mobile-Friendly?
If not, you’d better be prepared for diminished Google rankings.
I ran across this a few days back and thought I’d share. We’ve been pushing websites that are responsive in design for a while now. When we say “responsive”, what we mean is that they will adjust to the screen upon which they are viewed. A good responsive website design will happily display on a huge 23″ monitor running at 2000+ pixel widths and look good down to a small Android phone screen. The term “happily display” here means that it is readable without any need for pinch/zoom.

Penguin 2.0 and your website
Congratulations to everyone who survived Penguin 2.0!
All of our websites fared well. We saw the normal jostling of rankings, up a few here, down a couple there. Nothing earth-shattering. If you DID see something traumatic to YOUR website, what happened? We’ll be the likely thousandth to tell you, but if you HAVEN’T heard any of it yet… You or your SEO company probably has gone a little too far to the dark side with their SEO work. And we don’t necessarily mean “blackhat” – of course, that term is even a bit questionable itself. According to the Google TOS, pretty much ANYTHING you do to affect your rankings is strictly taboo. Really, Google?
