Though a planned four lane bypass around Havelock will ease traffic congestion for area motorists, the impact on the town's businesses and residents is less certain, say town officials and local store owners. While work on the bypass was slowed by a lawsuit brought by two environmental groups, construction is now set to begin in early 2019 and be completed in 2022.
