Currently more than 4,000 homes are planned in a single development in Wendell and another 2,000 are planned on the east side of Zebulon, with that number increasing with every town board meeting. Brian Dunlow returned to the residence at 3300 North NC Hwy 581 near Peachtree Church and confronted the priesthood members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as they were attempting to help his live-in girlfriend move from the residence. During the confrontation Dunlow produced a firearm and fired at Tyler Holmes of Wendell, missing him.
A Vietnam veteran brought up a name from the past, "Hanoi Jane," as he spoke in favor of keeping three Confederate monuments on North Carolina's Capitol grounds. Some of those who want the monuments moved described Confederates as traitors, bringing some stifled "boos" from the crowd.
